Indigenous Protected Areas funding
Funding for Indigenous Protected Areas has been boosted to $50 million over five years (2008-09 to 2012-13) through the Caring for our Country initiative. The first installment - more than $24 million - has already been announced. This includes five years worth of funding for Australia's 25 declared IPAs, and funding in 2008/09 to help develop new IPAs through new and continuing consultation projects.
