About the report
Critical stock forage is the abundance of those palatable perennial plants that sustain long-term livestock production irrespective of climate variability. Change in abundance of this forage source is one of the most important elements of sustainable management of the pastoral rangelands. Western Australia (WA), South Australia (SA) and the Northern Territory (NT) continue to operate ground-based monitoring programs that allow change in critical stock forage to be reported.
