24 February 2010
The Government today launched its new hotline 131792 for householders concerned about insulation installed under the discontinued Home Insulation Program.
Householders that are concerned about the safety of insulation installed under the Home Insulation Program can now call the safety line on 131792.
This hotline has been expanded from foil installation inquiries to handle calls involving all insulation installed under the program.
Urgent cases will be acted on immediately. Householders with non-urgent cases will have their contact details taken for follow-up including a full risk-based assessment.
The hotline supports the safety and inspection program announced on 22 February for a targeted, risk-based audit and inspection of 15 per cent of homes with non-foil insulation, and the existing electrical safety inspection program for all homes with foil insulation installed under the program.
