Environmental Assessment of the Northern Territory Giant Clam Aquaculture Trial under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999
The Department of Sustainability, Environment, Water, Population and Communities received a submission on the Giant Clam Aquaculture Trial (GCAT) from the Department of Resources, Northern Territory Government for export approval as an approved Wildlife Trade Operation. The submission will be used to assess the operation of the fishery for the purposes of Part 13A of the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act).
Consideration will be given to declaring the export of Tridacna squamosa by the GCAT as an approved Wildlife Trade Operation under section 303FN of the EPBC Act.
In accordance with the provisions of sections 303FR of the EPBC Act, you are invited to comment on this proposal.
