I, Margaret Tailby, Acting Assistant Secretary, Wildlife Trade and Sustainable Fisheries Branch, as Delegate of the Minister for the Environment and Heritage, being satisfied that:

  • The management regime for the Queensland Blue Swimmer Crab Pot Fishery in force under the Fisheries Act 1994 and the Fisheries Regulation 1995, to the extent that the management regime is a plan of management for the Queensland Blue Swimmer Crab Pot Fishery, requires persons engaged in fishing under the management regime to take all reasonable steps to ensure that members of listed threatened species, listed migratory species, cetaceans and listed marine species are not killed or injured as a result of the fishing; and

hereby accredit the Queensland Fisheries Act 1994 and the Fisheries Regulation 1995, to the extent that the Act and the Regulation apply to the Queensland Blue Swimmer Crab Pot Fishery, pursuant to sections 208A, 222A, 245 and 265 of the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 for the purposes of Divisions 1, 2, 3 and 4 of Part 13 of the Act.
