About the submission

The current export approval for Tycraft Pty Ltd is valid until 30 March 2011 and Tycraft Pty Ltd's operation is now due for assessment for ongoing export approval. The Department of Sustainability, Environment, Water, Population and Communities received a submission from Tycraft Pty Ltd in March 2011. The submission will be used to assess the operation for the purposes of Part 13A of the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act).

Consideration will be given to declaring the export of Tridacna maxima, Tridacna derasa and Tridacna gigas by Tycraft Pty Ltd as an approved Wildlife Trade Operation under section 303FN of the EPBC Act.

In accordance with the provisions of section 303FR of the EPBC Act, you are invited to comment on this proposal.

Call for public comments open from 1 April 2011 until 5 May 2011.
