Reclaimed water and stormwater harvesting upgrade project
Renmark Paringa Council
About the project
The project will ensure that the existing reuse program that provides recycled wastewater for the irrigation of the Renmark Golf Course, local schools and open space continues to be viable through the minimisation of losses from the system via leakage, through the repair of a pervious lagoon floor, and overflows by increasing recycled water storage capacity.
This project will benefit the Renmark Paringa region through the delivery of an additional 42 ML per year recycled water (stormwater and treated effluent) for use in irrigated public open space. This additional recycled water usage will reduce the draw on untreated River Murray water by 42 ML.
Further information on this project may be obtained by contacting the Renmark Paringa Council directly on 08 8580 3000.
The Strengthening Basin Communities program is funded by the Australian Government's Water for the Future initiative.
