About the application
The Department of Sustainability, Environment, Water, Population and Communities has received an application for a permit under Part 13, section 237 of the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act).
The application is to undertake scientific research on southern right whales (Eaubalaena australis) within the former Great Australian Bight Marine Park. Research activities will involve the use of helicopters to estimate abundance and undertake photo identification. Research will be undertaken by the South Australian Department of Environment, Water and Natural Resources.
