Description

The methodology determination generates abatement by replacing urea lick blocks with nitrate lick blocks for pasture-fed beef cattle, which has the effect of reducing methane emissions from enteric fermentation.

Tools

The CFI Beef Nitrates Calculator below has been developed to assist project proponents to estimate the effect of feeding nitrate supplements to pasture fed beef cattle to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

It is a requirement that all projects under the Determination use the Beef Nitrates Calculator to estimate emissions reductions for reporting purposes.
