Visitor Information

The Cocos (Keeling) Islands offer a unique ecological visitor experience. Pulu Keeling National Park, on North Keeling Island, is of particular environmental significance. Rich in natural flora, ocean life and birdlife, the island is home to several species of seabirds and has the largest breeding colony of the red-footed booby in the world. There is an abundant and diverse array of marine life around the islands with turtles, dolphins, manta rays and many varieties of fish.

There are commercial tour operators who offer scuba diving, snorkelling, surfing, sailing and fishing experiences for visitors to the Cocos Islands, however no commercial fishing tours or sailing is permitted in the park. Visitors to North Keeling Island can explore the park's reef and ship wreck of SMS Emden (with a permit).
