Campsite rules
There are lots of camping areas around Kakadu National Park with various levels of facilities. Please note that:
- There is no booking system for campsites. Places are allocated on a first come, first served basis.
- Camping outside of designated camping areas requires a camping permit.
South Alligator region

- Waldak Irrmbal (West Alligator Head)
Two campsites are located at West Alligator Head:
a. Pokok's Beach - composting toilet and shower facilities (to the West)
b. Middle Beach (free bush camping - no facilities, located 6km from Pokok's Beach)

This commercial site has a restaurant/bar and guest pool, BBQ, camper's kitchen and shower and toilet facilities. Drinking water is available at this site.
Budget accommodation, cabins, powered van sites and powered and unpowered tent sites are available.

This commercial site has BBQ, shower and toilet facilities. Drinking water is available at this site.
Bush bungalows, cabins and air-conditioned rooms are available as well as powered campsites only.

East Alligator region

This managed campground has flushing toilets and hot and cold shower facilities. The campground is divided into generator and non-generator zones.

This commercial site is run by a local Aboriginal family at Djarradjin Billabong (Muirella Park). Accommodation is provided in delux safari tents. Stay includes bush bistro and shared flushing toilet and hot and cold shower facilities.

Yellow Water region

- Gagudju Lodge Cooinda camp sites
This commercial site offers 300 unpowered camp sites and 108 shaded powered campsites. Outback rooms (singles and doubles) and lodge rooms also available.
Campground facilites include a caravan waste disposal area, showers and toilet facilities, full access to the lodge facilities - including bar and bistro, BBQ area and two resort pools - and BBQ facilities in the campground. Call to book - 08 8979 0145.

- Goymarr Tourist Park
This commercial camp site has BBQ, shower and toilet facilities. Drinking water is available. There is a guest pool, store and Indigenous Interpretive gallery. Motel rooms, backpacker accommodation, powered and unpowered van sites and tent sites are available.

Do your part to conserve Kakadu National Park and please remember
- Be considerate of other park users
- Keep all equipment within the confines of your campsite and away from vegetation
- Set up tents at least 50m from water's edge when camping near water bodies
- If possible, please use gas appliances rather than fires for cooking
- Only light fires in the fireplaces provided
- Only collect dead and fallen wood from road sides
- Do not feed the wildlife
- Please do not disturb the trees in the area, particularly young and small trees which will provide shade in the future
- Take your rubbish with you when you leave and dispose of appropriately
- Obey safety signs in the park.
