Camping

There are lots of camping areas around Kakadu National Park with various levels of facilities. Please note that:

Managed campgrounds - $10 per person per night

Facilities at managed campgrounds include hot and cold showers and flushing toilets. They may also have picnic tables, designated fire/barbecue facilities and day use areas. Some managed camping areas are divided into 'generator' and 'non-generator' zones.
Please pay camping fees to campground managers or deposit in collection boxes.

Bush campgrounds - $5 per person per night

Facilities at bush campgrounds are limited with composting toilets only. Drinking water is not available at these campsites so please bring your own.
Please pay camping fees by depositing money in collection boxes.

Free bush camping areas

There are also several free camping areas in the park, which have limited or no facilities. Drinking water is not available at these campsites, so please bring your own.
They are often in remote areas and have restricted seasonal access. Plan ahead before staying there and take all your rubbish out with you.

Commercial campgrounds

Several commercial campgrounds are located throughout Kakadu National Park. Prices and facilities vary. Please contact businesses directly for information and bookings. The Kakadu National Park visitor guide has phone numbers listed for accommodation and services in each region.
