Lookouts

One of the spectacular lookouts over the coastline of Norfolk Island.
The summits of Mount Pitt and Mount Bates provide views across Norfolk and towards Phillip Island. At present these peaks can only be accessed by foot, walking a gradual to steep track for 1.5 km - 2 km. Other views of the spectacular coastal scenery and many species of seabirds can be enjoyed from the Cook Monument, and various locations along the northeastern cliffs, particularly at the coastal end of the Bird Rock track.
At Palm Glen a sweeping panorama over the southern parts of Norfolk Island and out to Phillip Island can be experienced, with only a short easily graded walk from the carpark to a lookout where seats are provided.
The park provides many vantage points for viewing the Norfolk Island sunrise and sunsets which are always worth the additional effort to get to the best vantage point. The local radio station broadcasts the sunrise and sunset times daily.
