About the Report
The Kakadu Board of Management has endorsed a new vision for tourism in Kakadu National Park. The vision will be used to reposition Kakadu as a unique World Heritage destination with exceptional natural and cultural values. This Vision has been developed in consultation with the park's Aboriginal traditional owners and the tourism industry.
In May 2004, the Director of National Parks, on behalf of the Kakadu Board of Management and the Australian and Northern Territory Governments, commissioned a report on new strategic directions for tourism in the park.
John Morse AM, the tourism expert who masterminded the global tourism strategy for the Sydney 2000 Olympics, worked with John King and Jennifer Bartlett to write this report.
