About the Brochure
In March 2006 the Director of National Parks invited public comment on how Norfolk Island National Park and Norfolk Island Botanic Garden should be managed. This initial period of public comment closed in April 2006 and comments received were taken into account when preparing a draft management plan.
A draft management plan has now been prepared for Norfolk Island National Park and Norfolk Island Botanic Garden. This plan will guide management of the park and Botanic Garden for a period of 10 years.
The Director of National Parks invites members of the public and stakeholders to make comments on the draft plan.
A copy of the draft plan can be downloaded from this web page, or a printed version can be obtained from the Community Information Unit, Department of Sustainability, Environment, Water, Population and Communities, by emailing ciu@environment.gov.au or calling 1800 803 772.
Copies of the draft plan are also available by from the park Headquarters, located on the corner of Grassy Road and Mount Pitt Road, Norfolk Island. Draft plans are free of charge.
The period for public comment closed on Monday 3 September 2007.
