As a land of awe-inspiring landscapes and a continent hundreds of millions of years in the making, Australia is unique in every way. 80 percent of Australia's plants and animals are found nowhere else on earth.

The spectre of climate change casts a menacing shadow. In some areas, feral pests persist and habitat destruction continues to threaten the long term survival of our wildlife. Australia has found a way to protect its biodiversity through the National Reserve System.
