About the Plan

The management plan for Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park expired on 28 June 2007.

A draft management plan has been prepared for Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. This plan will guide management of the park for a period of 10 years.

In March 2006 the Uluru-Kata Tjuta Board of Management and Director of National Parks sought public comments on how the park should be managed. Comments received were taken into account when preparing this draft plan.

The period for comments on the draft plan is now closed

Comments must be sent by Friday 4 September 2009. Comments sent after that date may not be taken into account in finalising the plan.

Hard copies of the draft plan are available by contacting the Community Information Unit, Department of the Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts, by emailing ciu@environment.gov.au or calling 1800 803 772. Copies are also available through Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park by calling (08) 8956 1100 or through the Parks Australia office in Darwin on (08) 8920 1300. Copies of the draft plan are free of charge.
