Southern Basin - Restoring the Balance in the Murray-Darling Basin Program (water entitlement purchasing)
The 2008-09 southern Basin water entitlement purchase round is now open to willing sellers in the southern areas of the Murray-Darling Basin until 5:00pm (EST) 30 June 2009.
Green Precincts Fund
The Green Precincts Fund was announced in the 2008-09 Federal Budget to support at least 10 high-profile demonstration projects. The projects must deliver water and energy efficiency savings while at the same time educating the community about water and energy efficiency. Applications due 22 November 2008.
Molonglo and North Weston Strategic Assessment
The Australian Government Minister for the Environment, Heritage and the Arts and the ACT Minister for Planning have agreed to undertake a strategic assessment of the proposed Molonglo and North Weston Structure Plan.
Gunns pulp mill environmental assessment deadline extended
The deadline that Gunns Ltd has to complete the Environmental Impact Management Plan (EIMP) of its proposed Bell Bay Pulp Mill has been extended until 5 January 2009.
