About the recovery plan
The Ridged Water-milfoil (Myriophyllum porcatum) is listed as Vulnerable under the Commonwealth Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 and Threatened under the Victorian Flora and Fauna Guarantee Act 1988. The species is endemic to Victoria. Numbers fluctuate depending on availability of habitat, but current information suggests there are about 4,400 plants remaining in 15 wild populations. Major threats to populations include wetland drainage and modification, weed invasion, grazing and climate change.
This national Recovery Plan for M. porcatum details the species' distribution and biology, conservation status, threats, and recovery objectives and actions necessary to ensure its long-term survival.
