Amendments
Amendments to the Basel Convention lists of wastes came into force in November 2003. The amendments were adopted by Decision VI/35 of the Conference of the Parties to the Basel Convention and details are at:
Regulations
As from April 2003, hazardous wastes may be imported from East Timor under the Hazardous Waste (Regulation of Exports and Imports) (Imports from East Timor) Regulations 2003 .
As from October 2001, hazardous wastes may be imported from South Pacific Island countries under the Hazardous Waste (Regulation of Exports and Imports) (Waigani Convention) Regulations 1999 .
