Hazardous Waste Policy Reference Group
Role of the Policy Reference Group
The Hazardous Waste Act Policy Reference Group provides advice to the Department of the Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts on the operation of the Hazardous Waste Act and related issues arising from Australia's implementation of the Basel Convention. Policy Reference Group members are required to canvass and present the views of the parties they represent.
The Policy Reference Group is a consultative forum for major stakeholders including up to thirty representatives of industry, trade unions, environment groups and overseas development groups. The Group meets as required.
