Department of the Environment and Water Resources, May 2007

PDF file

About the action plan

The Australian Government is committed to the National Packaging Covenant and is actively participating in its development and implementation. The former Minister for the Environment and Heritage signed the National Packaging Covenant on behalf of the Australian Government in November 2005.

The Government fully supports the Covenant principles of shared responsibility and lifecycle management of packaging and paper.

This action plan has been approved by the Hon Malcolm Turnbull, Minister for the Environment and Water Resources. The Department of the Environment and Water Resources will implement a number of actions and projects to support the Covenant's principles and overarching targets.
