This checklist will help your school make the most of the National Solar Schools Program.
- Declarations
- This claim form has been completed by an employee of my school.
- My school's project meets all the terms and conditions of the National Solar Schools Program Guidelines.
- To the best of my knowledge, my school is not listed for closure in the next 12 months.
- The expected start date of my school's project is within 8 to 12 weeks of lodging this claim.
- The project is expected to be finalised within 6 months of receiving funding.
- Planning and consultation
- My school has checked the National Solar Schools resources webpage.
- My school has visited the Australian Sustainable Schools Initiative (AuSSI) website.
- If you are a state or territory owned school, confirmation your school has checked with your state education department.
- Eligible project items and activities
- My school has sought value for money for my National Solar Schools project (see Part 4 of the Guidelines).
- My school has itemised quotes detailing hardware, delivery and installation costs.
- For each eligible item or activity to be funded, these quotes detail the amount for each item including GST and the GST applicable.
- Planning permissions and approvals
- My school and the installers will meet all installation and warranty requirements associated with solar power systems (see Part 7 of the Guidelines).
- My school and our installers have identified all state, territory and local government requirements, for example, permissions and approvals (see Part 8 of the Guidelines).
- My school will ensure it has a process in place to meet all state, territory and local government requirements.
- I have personally checked
- Model numbers for photovoltaic systems and inverters are correct.
- All photovoltaic systems and inverters are accredited as listed on the Clean Energy Council website.
- Designers/installers are accredited as listed on the Clean Energy Council website List of Accredited Installers.
- All delivery and installation costs are included.
- Size of roof catchment for rainwater tanks are included.

National Solar Schools Program
Grants of up to $50 000 (GST exclusive) to install solar and other renewable power systems, solar hot water systems, rainwater tanks and a range of energy efficiency measures including:
- Energy efficiency lighting
- Skylights
- Ceiling fans
- Insulation
- Sensors
- Shade awnings
- Automatic doors
- External window fittings (eg double glazing and shutters).
