Degradable Plastics
Standards Australia has made a significant progress on the development of biodegradable plastics. However, there is a need to obtain necessary data on oxo-degradable plastics products to support claims of degradability in the real world.
To assist this process, DEH is conducting a survey on oxo-degradable
plastics products. If you are a manufacturer, importer or interested
party of the oxo-degradable plastics products, please fill in
questionnaire below and email it to issay.chulajata@environment.gov.au
Questionnaire must be received by Fri 24 November 2006.
Your response will be treated in a confidential manner.
This web site has been developed by the Department of the Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts to help you understand more about degradable plastics and their use in Australia.
We aim to engage with everyone who has an interest in learning more about degradable plastics - environmentalists, marketers, suppliers, manufacturers, retailers, governments, researchers, farmers, fishing enthusiasts and shoppers... people like you!
By developing a common understanding of the differing viewpoints that exist, we can more effectively work together to achieve environmental outcomes related to the degradable plastics debate - such as improving resource efficiency, reducing litter and achieving more sustainable consumption patterns.
