Data Reporting System - Theme: Atmosphere
Introduction
The Atmosphere is one of the four physical spheres of the Earth's environment, along with the coasts and oceans, the land and inland waters.
The issues included in the Atmosphere theme have been structured to examine key trends in aspects of condition of the atmosphere and in pressures acting on the atmosphere, such as trends in weather and greenhouse emissions, the ozone layer, and air quality in both urban and regional areas.
The primary pressures on air quality and societal responses to those pressures are examined together, because responses to pressures on air quality can alter those pressures more quickly than responses to pressures on climate or the ozone layer, or pressures operating in the other physical spheres or on biodiversity.
Issues
- Climate variability and change
- Stratospheric ozone
- Air quality
