What the data mean
All gases show an increase at all sites over the reporting period. Both carbon dioxide and nitrous oxide continue to grow while there has been a dramatic slowdown in the growth of methane.

Issues for which this is an indicator and why
Australian Antarctic Territory — Environment - Atmosphere, climate and oceans
The three gases, carbon dioxide, methane and nitrous oxide together contribute around 70% of the anthropogenic greenhouse forcing. Changes at high southern latitudes is an unambiguous indication of global change.
