Issue: Contributions and pressures between the land and the ocean - Pressures of ocean change on the land

This is an issue under the Land theme of the Data Reporting System.

Why we need to know about this issue

The ocean contributes inputs from marine species and climate moderation to the land. Changes in conditions, including water quality, water temperature, water salinity and species present (or absent), in marine waters systems, can place pressure on land species via species living at the land-ocean interface (eg beaches, reefs, headlands). It can also place pressure on the land during sea surge events, or in the event of rising sea levels or changing currents.
