Water planning and management charge rules
The water planning and management charge rules were registered on 23 July 2010 and have legal effect from 24 July 2010. A copy of the rules and the associated explanatory statement are available on the Federal Register of Legislative Instruments website .
The rules have been developed on the basis of advice from the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC), with an extension to the transition period until 30 June 2011. A summary of the rules and a copy of the ACCC’s advice to the Minister in relation to the rules are published below.
The ACCC has developed guidelines to assist Basin state governments and agencies in complying with the requirements of the new rules. This material is available on the ACCC website .
