Building resilience against climate change
Carrathool Shire Council - offer was declined by Council
Funding: $200,000
About the project
This project will deliver planning-based outcomes examining the impacts of climate change on critical water infrastructure, assess the state and readiness of infrastructure against likely impacts and develop a science-based strategy and action plan for building capability to ensure drought resilience.
Project benefits
The review will be carried out by NSW Public Works, expert in this field, to develop strategic options, an implementation plan, long term income & expenditure forecasts, and a long term capital works program with financing strategy. Strategic considerations such as:
- capitalising on water conservation opportunities from effluent re-use;
- stormwater harvesting; and
- key drought resilience measures such as evaporation strategy and securing back-up groundwater sources will be addressed, costed and factored within Plans.
Further information
The Strengthening Basin Communities program is funded by the Australian Government's Water for the Future initiative.
