Country Water Community Water Efficiency Rebate and Replacement Programme
Country Energy – offer was declined by Country Energy
Funding: $300,000
About the project
The project has four aims. The 1st aim is to implement a school and community group water efficiency programme focussing on dual flush toilets and water efficient tap replacement. The 2nd aim is to implement a community wide rebate programme to reduce future demands on the Broken Hill Water Supply. The third aim is to undertake an education programme with primary schools, day-care centres and household audits on how to reduce water usage and benefits of water saving devices. The fourth aim is to analyse and report on the projected water savings through collaboration with the University of Technology, Sydney.
Project benefits
The project will promote the use of water efficient products throughout the communities in which Country Water operates through direct funding, audits, rebates, public events, media and education. The water savings will amount to 250,273 kL per year and will provide ongoing promotion of water being a finite resource which needs to be used wisely.
