Loddon Shire Council
About the project
This project is the implementation phase of the Loddon Shire Council's project funded under Round 1 of the Strengthening Basin Communities program – planning componentm. This project aims to implement the water saving initiatives recognised and documented in the 'Climate proofing sport & recreation facilities strategy' produced as a consequence of the planning funding and will reduce the potable water used to water the Shire's sport and recreational facilities with 'fit for purpose' recycled water.
This project will benefit by the Loddon Shire through the:
- installation of improved irrigation systems;
- reduction of water losses from distribution networks;
- reduction of water loss from public pool by installation of thermal blankets; and
- use of appropriate turf types.
Further information on this project may be obtained by contacting the Loddon Shire Council directly on 03 5494 1200 or 1300 365 200.
The Strengthening Basin Communities program is funded by the Australian Government's Water for the Future initiative.
