Moama Stormwater Harvesting & Reuse Scheme
Murray Shire Council
Funding: $260,500
About the project
Murray Shire Council has developed a Stormwater Harvesting Strategy with the aim of irrigating parks and recreational facilities within Moama with stormwater runoff collected from the urban catchment.
Project benefits
This project will reduce reliance on water allocations from the Murray River and ensure that, during periods of water shortages, the community’s open spaces and playing fields can be kept green. The scheme will be developed in stages over the next 5 years. In the first stage, two storages will be developed with pumps and pipelines to supply water to irrigate the Town’s principal sporting facilities at the Moama Recreation Reserve.
