Stawell stormwater harvesting and reuse system augmentation and reliability improvements
Northern Grampians Shire Council
Funding:$320,000
About the project
The Council currently harvests urban stormwater runoff from Stawell township and stores it in storage dams in four locations. In addition to collection of stormwater from local suburban dam catchments, a weir has been constructed in a large open stormwater drain to divert flow into new earthen basins.
The project will undertake system automation for the storage and pumping stations, dam augmentation and wetland development.
Project benefits
The project will ensure that the current system's water savings can be achieved in the long term as well as the short term and will provide additional water savings by increasing the efficiency and upgrading the reliability of the scheme assets.
