Augmentation of non potable water supplies at Lameroo and Pinnaroo

Southern Mallee District Council

Funding:$735,000

About the project

The Pinnaroo project will provide the distribution network and associated pump upgrades to substitute 12 ML per year of stormwater, for groundwater for the irrigation of public open space.

At Lameroo the works comprise upgrading the joint stormwater harvesting and effluent reuse works to provide an additional 29 ML per year of fit for purpose recycled water to replace groundwater used for the irrigation of the golf course.

Project benefits

The project will augment and enhance recycled water treatment and supply works to maximise the re-use of harvested stormwater and recycled effluent, increasing the substitution of non potable water for groundwater derived drinking water currently used for irrigation of recreation areas and public open space for the townships of Pinnaroo and Lameroo.
