Water Saving Initiatives component
The Water Saving Initiatives component of the Strengthening Basin Communities program supports projects that improve urban water security through water saving initiatives that reduce demand on potable supplies in the Murray-Darling Basin by:
- Reducing water loss in distribution systems;
- Reducing potable water use; and/or
- Providing 'fit for purpose' water that can replace potable
Round 2
The Water Minister announced 'in-principle' funding for 24 applicants to share more than $34 million for projects to implement water saving initiatives on 24 February 2011.
