Yass Valley Council - offer declined by Council
About the project
The project aims at delivering water adaptation initiatives through the delivery of a rebate scheme and education, which will provide an effective and straightforward way of achieving water savings in the Yass Valley. Water savings will be made through the substitution of potable source with rainwater tanks and indirect water use, consumer education and a rebate scheme for the replacement of existing 9/4.5 l dual flush toilets with 6/3l unit water tank rebates and residential home tune ups.
The project is aimed at reducing the Council's potable water demand by 241 ML per year or approximately 30% of current consumption.
The Strengthening Basin Communities program is funded by the Australian Government's Water for the Future initiative.
