Green Precincts Fund

The Green Precincts Fund's objectives are to support project initiatives that encourage water and energy savings measures at the community level.

The Green Precincts Fund was announced in the 2008-09 Federal Budget, with funding of $15 million over four years, to support at least 10 high-profile demonstration projects.

The Green Precincts Fund is an Australian Government initiative to prepare Australia for a future with less water and to encourage local communities to better manage their water and energy use for current and future generations.

Current funding

Expressions of Interest into the Green Precincts Fund closed in November 2008. Applications are no longer being accepted and there are currently no plans for future funding rounds under this program.
