Braidwood Sewage Treatment Plant Upgrade
Braidwood, New South Wales
Australian Government Funding: $3,300,000
About the project
This project involved the construction of a new sewerage treatment plant in Braidwood, NSW. The existing plant was replaced due to its age, the inadequate function of some elements of the system, and to ensure compliance with Environmental Protection Authority licensing requirements.
Project benefits
The project has:
- ensured sewerage is treated to a level suitable for discharge to Flood Creek,
- provided an emergency overflow storage which minimises the likelihood of untreated sewerage entering Flood Creek,
- increased the use of recycled water, and
- enabled the Palerang Council to meet Environmental Protection Authority licensing requirements.
Progress
The project is now complete and the final report is available below.
