Tumbarumba, New South Wales
Australian Government Funding: $2,000,000
About the project
The project upgraded the Water Treatment Plant which increased its capacity from 2 million litres per day to 3 million litres per day. This has enabled water from Tumbarumba Creek to be used to augment the current water supply from Burra Creek and increased the available water supply for Tumbarumba.
The project has:
- expanded the capacity of the water treatment plant to better utilise poor quality water from Tumbarumba Creek to supplement water sourced from Burra Creek
- increased the available water supply to Tumbarumba without the need to enlarge the Tumbarumba reservoir.
The project is now complete and the final report is available below:
Water Smart Australia projects are funded by the Australian Government's Water for the Future initiative.
