The Murray-Darling Basin Plan
After years of negotiation and stakeholder consultation, the Australian Government today launched the final Murray-Darling Basin Plan.
Minister Tony Burke revealed details of the Basin Plan at the National Press Club it will be tabled in Parliament next week.
The Basin Plan is central to the Government's commitment to restoring Basin rivers to health and provides an integrated and strategic framework for water reform, consistent with the requirements of the Water Act 2007.
Detailed information on the Basin Plan including a draft water recovery strategy, fact sheets, information on environmental use, and frequently asked questions are at www.environment.gov.au/water/basin-plan
