Discontinued export approval - 2012
In February 2012, the Australian Fisheries Management Authority (AFMA) and the Department of Sustainability, Environment, Water, Populations and Communities agreed to allow the export approval for the New and Exploratory Fisheries in the CCAMLR Region to lapse until further notice as there has been no fishing activity for a number of years. Export approval for the fisheries expired on 15 March 2012. AFMA has agreed that a new application for export approval will be developed and submitted to the department in advance of any fishing activity recommencing in the fisheries.
