Application for approval of a Wildlife Trade Operation for the commercial export of Australian native flowers and foliage and bush worms

About the application

The Department of the Environment and Energy has received an application for approval of a Wildlife Trade Operation under Part 13A, section 303FN of the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act).

The proposed operation is for the harvest of flowers and foliage of various native plants and Tasmanian bush worms for commercial purposes from private property and state forests in Tasmania and Flinders Island. None of the species to be harvested are listed as threatened under the EPBC Act or listed under the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES).

It is proposed that should the operation be approved it would be in force for up to three (3) years from the date of declaration.

In accordance with the provisions of section 303FR of the EPBC Act, you are invited to comment on this proposal. Please submit your comments by 6 February 2018. Please include your full name and address in your submission.
