We are working to protect our agriculture and food industries, supply chains and environment during the COVID-19 outbreak. See our advice and support.

Consultation and engagement

The Australian Government’s response to the impact of the bushfires on the environment has been informed by expert insights and feedback from conservation and wildlife care organisations, business, industry, Traditional Owners, natural resource managers, and other levels of government.

Regional workshops

A series of stakeholder workshops were held in August and September 2020 to inform the Australian Government’s $110 million investment in the seven most vulnerable regions following the 2019–20 bushfires. Workshops included discussion of strategic on-ground actions targeting the most impacted native species, ecological communities and natural assets.
