About this document
The Australian Government is providing funding to support koala habitat protection and restoration projects in Northern New South Wales and South East Queensland. To assist with project planning and design, the Department engaged Natural Decisions to conduct a cost-benefit analysis using the Investment Framework for Environmental Resources (INFFER) tool to inform the prioritisation of project sites. As part of this process, the Department convened two workshops to bring together koala experts from the Commonwealth, Queensland and New South Wales Governments, Regional Land Partnerships Service Providers, land managers and people with local knowledge and experience to determine the most feasible and cost effective outcomes to protect koalas. Data from the workshops and a final analysis are set out in the report. A summary of the findings were presented at the Koala Workshop/Ministerial Roundtable on 26 February 2020 at Parliament House.
