On 8 May 1974, Cobourg Peninsula became the first site to be listed on the Ramsar list of Wetlands of International Importance. This desktop scoping study for the Ecological Character Description (ECD) was prepared to identify existing data associated with the Cobourg Peninsula to assist in completion of the ECD, identify knowledge gaps in the literature, and assess the costs and methods associated with filling these gaps.
